Japan's Tomy introduced Strolling Bowling back in 1979 for the kiddo's to learn how to bowl. It's a 3 piece set consisting of a wind-up bowling ball with feet and a two-part lane. Unfortunately, after a quick check of Tomy's Wikipedia page, it's not around anymore.

This wasn't the only bowling game on the market at the time. Ideal had come out with Snap Bowling a few years earlier, and I actually owned one of those. Strolling Bowling was for a younger target demo.

At the time, Tomy used to be sort of the king of wind-ups with the amount of similar games and figures they put out. I remember plenty of these in the early 80's as well. Reminded there was a cute little film made for The Disney Channel that featured a number of Tomy wind-up's as well as a filmed bit through Tomy's factory as well.

A company back in the mid 2000's had licensed Tomy's Strolling Bowling for a while, going by this Amazon listing. Whether that will happen again, who knows.

Tomy has long since merged with another Japanese company, but whether or not they'd get the rights back to Strolling Bowling remains to be seen.
