For once, Barney is foiled. This would be one of the last times Mel Blanc voiced Barney, as we lost Mel a year later.
In the 90's, they had Jim Cummings dub over Santa's lines, but otherwise it was the same commercial. Don't ask why.

Yeah it was odd they dubbed over Santa since that didn't seem necessary at all (unless it's some kind of residuals thing with whoever was Santa before). This would also be one of the few cases where Fred and Barney both get a happy ending, if only due to Santa's intervention.
