After periodic appearances on Captain Kangaroo between 1976-80, Slim Goodbody moved to PBS with his own show, The Inside Story, which preceded the Captain's move to PBS by a few years.
Slim (John Burstein) was a walking, talking science project, attired in a bodysuit that illustrated all of our nerves and organs. Now, I never saw The Inside Story, so I will review this based on his appearances on Captain Kangaroo, and some of those excerpts were used on Inside Story. In fact, the Captain (Bob Keeshan) made guest appearances to return the favor to Burstein.
Here's a sample episode on respiration:
If you can find this on DVD, I recommend getting it for your kids. You'll be glad you did.
Rating: A.

I saw a couple of episodes of "The Inside Story" on PBS (literally a couple, two). It was Slim Goodbody more or less doing what he did when he was on Captain Kangaroo, except without the narrative of Slim being the champion of the fictional Nutra City.
We'll have some Slim in Nutri City if possible down the line. He's still at it, by the way, even today, just not on TV.
I remember this guy!
He came to our elementary school to do a lecture for the kids! He came out in that freaky costume which had everyone in the audience howling! He had out attention, but to this day I can't remember exactly what the lecture was other than, "Eat right don't smoke and stay healthy kids!"
IIRC, he also did some PSAs too, for a segment that ran on a local channel called "Nickelodeon" (though it was not related to the kids' channel) in between kid's programming.
Slim would eventually air on the Nick we all know, though.
