Coming Attractions: Me-TV picks up the Flintstones

The Flintstones will be on a cabler not owned by WarnerMedia for a change:

With the series' 60th anniversary more than a year away, this move makes some sense, especially considering Chumptoon Network and Boomerang didn't bother with any major anniversaries in recent years. The series debuts on Me-TV with back-to-back episodes from 6-7 pm (ET) starting September 30, which, it happens, was its debut date in 1960. Stay tuned.

It's a bummer that the Seth MacFarlane reboot of this show got canceled.

Maybe it was a blessing in disguise.

There's another Flintstones reboot in the works produced by Elizabeth Banks.

...As well as a new Flintstones-based kids' animated series starring Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm titled Yabba Dabba Dnosaurs that's slated for Canada's YTV this fall. For us Americans, the show will going straight to Boomerang's streaming service.

Didn't Yabba Dabba Dinosaurs already come & go?

Sort of. Warner Brothers decided to end production on YDD! after a single season instead of the two seasons that were originally planned. The one season of episodes will still be airing, last time that I checked.

And Chumptoon Network doesn't want to put it over the air in the US. Morons.

It's about time Fred & the gang are back on the air!!

Considering what a great job McFarland did with The Orville (being a better Trek show than Discovery) maybe a Flintstones revival from him wouldn't have been so bad. At least with Orville, he has tremendous love and respect for the Trek Universe which is why it works.

Elizabeth Banks screwed up Charlies' Angels (that abomination that hit theaters recently) so badly, I shudder to think about what SHE might do to The Flintstones! Wilma will be turned into a wahman and Fred & Barney might really have a "gay old time"!!

Banks is also hosting Press Your Luck's revival on ABC, and from what I've seen, that sucks, too. Unfortunately for fans of The Orville, it's moving to Hulu for a 10-episode 3rd season, but there is a comic book version out now from Dark Horse.

Seth McFarlane is, at heart, a geek. He gets it, though his use of a certain spacey babe on Family Guy is questionable.

Me-TV is a good landing spot for the Flintstones, considering Chumptoon Network's not doing anything with it these days.

I am glad that the original 1960's cartoon is back on the air even if it is not rerunning on Boomerang, Cartoon Network, or both. It is also very disappointing to see that Boomerang (the channel that formerly aired the cartoon) doesn't air that many classic cartoons from Hanna-Barbera, Cartoon Network from the 1990's and 2000's, and reruns of shows that have actually ended production. I even wrote a blog about the situation that both CN and Boomerang currently have on http://funfunfuntv.blogspot.com titled, "Let's Make TV Fun Again" where it also talks about other kids tv channels such as Disney XD and TV Land (if you are ever interested in looking into that) and I was hoping that people would read my blog, understand the problem, and hopefully when I get enough people supporting my blog, that could be enough to fully address the issue to CN as soon as possible. I mean Me-Tv is definitely a good alternate for the Flintstones however not everybody gets that channel in some way which is why I was hoping it could also air on Boomerang and/or Cartoon Network again someday.

Hmmm, I'll have to look into that. Thanks.
