Saturday Morning's Forgotten Heroes: Dynomutt & Blue Falcon vs. Red Vulture (1976)

Dynomutt, Dog Wonder & Blue Falcon tangle with the Red Vulture in this adventure. You'll be seeing the Falcon & Dyno on the big screen next year. Details after the video.

WB is going to try again with Scooby-Doo on the big screen, but, for the first time, aside from A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, someone other than Frank Welker (who will reprise as Scooby) will voice Fred. That would be Zac Efron ("High School Musical"), who, at one time, was attached to a live-action Jonny Quest film that never saw the light of day (thankfully). In fact, none of the regular Scooby-Doo cast will play their usual roles.

Instead, Will Forte (ex-Saturday Night Live) subs for Matthew Lilliard (Good Girls) as Shaggy, and Gina Rodriguez (Jane The Virgin, Carmen Sandiego) subs for Kate Micucci as Velma. Also, Mark Wahlberg voices the Blue Falcon, Ken Jeong (ex-Dr. Ken) subs for Welker as Dynomutt, while Captain Caveman's grunts will be courtesy of DAZN pitchman Tracy Morgan (ex-Saturday Night Live, Scare Tactics). "Scoob" will be out next year.

No rating for this episode. Never saw it the first time.

Why Why Why?????

I had head about S.C.O.O.B. being in production a while ago and based on what I had heard about it (an HB cinematic universe in which we'd see many of the old HB heroes like JQ, The Impossibles, etc. coming together) sounded potentially awesome! Why in the world would they reject the VAs that have been part of the animated cast for the past 15 years (excludog Micucci, who's only been around since "Be Cool, Scooby Doo")? The fact that they are substituting them with face actors who don't have much (if any) VA experience troubles and baffles me!! That alone sets this up for failure.

WB wants people like Mark Wahlberg (a proven box office draw) attached to the project to ensure maximum box office.

Right now, I can't get the thought out of my head of Captain Caveman being voiced by Tracy Morgan. Hopefully, Welker doubles as voice coach.......

According to a Scooby fan forum I found, it seems that the Scooby VAs (Micucci, Delisle-Griffin, Lillard) weren't even told they weren't being used for the project! They found out from fans via social media! They are very upset!

Sure Marky-Mark is a box office draw but that's not everything. This could potentially fall flat.

Don't know when production starts, but they do have time to make it up to the current regulars, since Welker's the only one with a part in the movie at this point.
