Love this! I am too young to remember Snagglepuss as a shill for Cocoa Krispies... when I was a kid it was a chocolate elephant. My ears tell me the voice of the first male panelist was Don Messick, while the woman panelist sounded like Jean Vander Pyl.
Right on both counts. Snag had ceased to plug Cocoa Krispies by the time I was born, but this was just too rich to resist.
Actually, the very first mascot for Cocoa Krispies was a monkey named Coco. Kellogg's briefly revived the character in the early 1990s (IIRC), only for him to be re-retired after just a few ads.
I remember the revival of Coco the Cocoa Monkey. Yeah, it was the early 90's, but I can't quite put an exact date on it.
Snagglepuss influenced Bert Lahr was doing Frito's and got HB and Kellogg's to actually credit Daws Butler on SCREEN, as a late-end disclaimer!
