Toonfomercial: Fred Flintstone for Welch's Grapeade (1964)
Here's a long missing ad for Welch's Grapeade. Fred Flintstone (Alan Reed) & Barney Rubble (Mel Blanc) are finishing a round of golf, when Fred decides to get some refreshment. Not sure if it's Blanc or Don Messick as the salesman.
I don't recall hearing of any grapeade - though Welch's was still a well known brand. I myself always loved the Gouz (rhymes with cows!) pina colada drink. Haven't seen THAT since I left NY.
That's definitely Mel Blanc doing the voice of the soda jerk.
I noticed that other commercials the Flintstones did back then had the real image of the product superimposed over the cartoon - couldn't the animators just animate the brand name item into the toon?
SaturdayMorningFan: Have to agree that it probably would've cost more coin to fully animate the brand name of the product, though I'd think they would save money by animating it instead of superimposing the actual image, which today we'd call photoshopping.

Magicdog: Thanks for clarifying on the soda jerk.
