Toonfomercial: Even cartoon characters need insurance (2013)

You've probably seen this one making the rounds the last couple of months.

State Farm's latest celebrity endorser is none other than Scooby-Doo and friends, and just in time, too, since their next DTV DVD, co-starring the superstars & divas of the WWE, is due in another few weeks.

This shortie pays homage to the original series, which marks its 45th anniversary this year.

I only saw this about a week ago - although it was uploaded back in October. I find it a great sendup to the show as well as the recent State Farm ads featuring insurance agents popping in to the rescue of their clients.

I found two other clips on YT which I have yet to see on TV but are also pretty good.

I found at least one more, which I'll check into, this one with at least Shaggy.

Wonder if the ad agency cleared it with WB, though. I had noted that there were issues between WB & GEICO, which is why they didn't do another Looney Tunes ad after Foghorn Leghorn & Henery Hawk appeared in one, following the infamous Elmer Fudd ad.

The other State Farm SD ad is the one in which Scooby needs to talk to a live representative. His voice unable to be picked up by the automated system!

If this toon is any indicator, the Scrappy hate may finally be over. Scrappy appears in a photo on Scooby's desk!

Scooby has a desk? Only he & Snoopy could get away with that....
