Toonfomercial: Remember the Scrubbing Bubbles? (1978)

Dow Chemical, for many years, branched out to make household items such as Saran Wrap, Ziploc plastic sandwich & storage bags, and Dow bathroom cleaner, which featured some sentient "scrubbing bubbles" on the cans and in television ads.

The bathroom cleaner was introduced in 1968. Nearly 30 years later, it was sold, along with Ziploc, Saran Wrap, and other Dow products, to S. C. Johnson & Co., which rebranded the bathroom cleaner as Scrubbing Bubbles, in honor of the beloved "mascot".

Here's a sample commercial from 1978, with Paul Winchell voicing the leader of the bubbles, using his Fleegle voice from The Banana Splits.

I remember seeing earlier Scrubbing Bubbles commercials and hearing Paul Winchell's voice. It's rather odd they never bothered to get someone to take his place years later. I'm thinking of two options:
1. Jim Cummings - took over as the voice of Tigger, complete with a hearty "hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!"
2. Bill Farmer - voiced Fleegle in the Banana Splits revival, but he's apparently unable to do that Tigger laugh.

Actually, that laugh belongs to BOTH Tigger AND Fleegle.

I'm aware of that. I always think of the original Tigger voice when I hear Fleegle talk/laugh and vice versa. It's a very distinctive Paul Winchell feature I never will forget.

Winchell actually originated the voice on one of his self-titled shows that co-headlined Jerry Mahoney. If you go back and look at tapes that are available on YouTube or elsewhere, you'll see what I mean.
