A few short weeks before Soul Train went national, NBC developed an overnight music series that would air after The Tonight Show. The Midnight Special lasted a decade, launching in August 1972.
The series now has a fan channel on YouTube, and the series premiere, hosted by John Denver, is up. We've previously screened Argent's performance of "Hold Your Head Up", but now comes the whole enchilada.
