The Dilly Sisters appeared a couple of times at least on The Banana Splits Adventure Hour during the first season. All these two ladies did was play acoustic guitars and sing "Ta-ra-ra-boom-de-ay", a vaudeville number that dates back to 1891.
At least Drooper (voice of Allan Melvin) seems to be entertained. Check it.
Sadly, some jerkwad decided to deconstruct the Splits into homicidal killers for a DTV due later this year after a premiere on SyFy. The trailer for that abomination is over at The Land of Whatever, where it belongs.

There's shades of urban legend with this one. Some say one Dilly Sister became a law enforcement agent and the other one a college professor. Still, some others say Las Dilly Sisters are in reality Las Hermanas Nuñez, a famous mexican sister singing duo who happen to be today in their late 50's or early 60's and - you guessed it - played the guitar. But the Nuñezes were born in Yucatán, Mexico - what were they doing in 1968 California and how did they get involved with the Banana Splits show anyways? Something doesn't add up. Hmm...
I'd say it is a urban legend, a tall tale, even, and leave it at that.
