Coming attractions: Two sets of Teen Titans rumble

This is not what most Teen Titans fans were hoping for.

WB, in an effort to raise more revenue off Chumptoon Network's unfunny Teen Titans Go!, will pit the current team against their predecessors in a DTV due shortly. IGN serves up the trailer:

Only a masochist would want to sit through this. Robert Morse and "Weird" Al Yankovic are among the guest stars. Buy or rent at your own risk if you're not a TTG fan.

My money is on the OG Titans.

The OG Titans were the Founding Five: JLA sidekicks Robin, Speedy, Wonder Girl, Aqualad and Kid Flash, who had their own animated shorts (sans Robin) in the 60's. These Titans are a TV version of the New Teen Titans from the 80's comics.

Anyways, some fans are already bemoaning this, saying they were hoping the 2003 Titans would be coming back for a 6th season/series reboot. These are the same folks who deride TTGO! for being "too silly". Sorry, guys, but the 2003 Titans were pretty goofy as well, GO! isn't really all that big of a stretch. But that's the thing about nostalgia sometimes: it causes people to forget the bad stuff and remember the good stuff as being better than it actually was.

The original 2003 show wasn't just goofy, it also had character development and drama to blalance it out. It had both light hearted and mature themes, which is why it was popular enough to resonate with an adult fanbase.

Not with this adult, but nonetheless I see your point. For me, it's still a very fine line. TTGO! is just TT:TAS without the action elements and with the silliness cranked up to 11.

Yup.

People forget the 1967 shorts exist, and they are on DVD (The Filmation Adventures set). I think what Steven meant to say initially is that his money's on the '03 series team. It's fitting that "Weird" Al is in this movie, because the writers tend to live up to one of his songs. I'm sure you know which one without me referencing it.
