Toonfomercial: A gathering of cartoon stars (2012)

While I didn't really watch the Super Bowl, I have read up on many of the commercials.

For cartoon enthusiasts, MetLife serves up what arguably would be among the best of this year's crop. It's been a while since Peanuts characters other than Snoopy have appeared in a MetLife ad, but oh, did they more than make up for it. Charlie Brown leads the parade that also includes He-Man (riding Battlecat), Voltron, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang, Squiddly Diddly, and so many more.

My favorite part is Daphne Blake exiting a limo with Richie Rich. You know what they say about money coming to money........

Darn if that isn't a great commercial!

But they found room for the Bananna Splits and a couple of Scooby villians but no Space Ghost or the Impossibles?

I guess you have to take what you can get! Good job Met Life!

I spotted Wally Gator, Grape Ape, Elroy Jetson, and a few others. Should've noted Top Cat opening the limo for Richie & Daphne. MetLife's had a contract with United Features (Peanuts) for years, so they definitely had the coin to work with WB, Mattel, et al for this spot.

Not to mention Classic Media, who owns He-man & Fat Albert.

Definitely didn't expect to see them!

Actually, I referenced Mattel because they actually own He-Man, not Classic Media. CM simply holds the rights to the 1983 cartoon.
