Of all the musical guests that appeared on The New Scooby-Doo Movies, only two of them actually sang on the show. We have a clip of Jerry Reed's appearance already available here in the Archives, and now, we present Davy Jones, performing "I Can Make You Happy", from the episode, "The Haunted Horseman of Hagglethorn Hall".

I've posted some personal words about Davy's passing on the Land of Whatever blog.
That said, I always loved Davy's episode on The New Scooby Doo Movies. He did a decent job with the song, and it was cute how Daphne and Velma were conveniently paired up with him for clue hunting rather than Freddy! He even alluded to his past by mentioning that he never sang for frogs only "monkeys"!
RIP Davy. You will be missed.
I think it was one of the few, rare times where Shaggy & Fred were teamed up, along with Scooby. It served its purpose, though. Too bad fellow Monkee Micky Dolenz, who'd later come to work for H-B, didn't come in sooner for this gig.
As an aside, John Stephenson did a Boris Karloff-esque voice as the butler-type, a voice he'd recycle as the original Frank Frankenstone a few years later, before Charles Nelson Reilly took over the part (Flintstone Comedy Show, 1980 series).
If the Monkees could have guested on SD it would have been epic!!
Even if Mickey did a random voice during the episode, it would have been cool.
I made a mistake in my last reply. Micky had signed with H-B a year earlier, working on Funky Phantom, so he could've been used. It's just a matter of whether or not he wanted to work with Davy again so soon after the band split.
