Big Barda in this episode was originally going to be Wonder Woman, but Wondy had an embargo at the time that states the character couldn't be used unless she was the star or among the starring cast.
And Justice League came along on Cartoon Network the very next year. Whose idea was this?
The Wondy embargo was placed onto WB/DC by the estate of William Moulton Marston. Not sure if it's still in place now, but Diana's turning up in a lot of projects currently.
Also, Justice League was originally pitched to Kids' WB! (it was originally slated to be KWB's next DC toon after Superman:TAS, hence why Supey met Green Lantern, Aquaman and Flash on his show), but Kids' WB! wasn't interested in shows starring grown-ups; they were taking their block's name very literally and only wanted shows starring kid or teen heroes, so JL went to Cartoon Network instead.
