Sunday Funnies: Incredible Hulk, a la Family Guy (2011)

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is a comics geek.

There, I've said it. We've previously seen Family Guy channel MacFarlane's inner geek/child with a replication of the opening to The All-New Super Friends Hour. From 2011, here's a satire on another popular series from the late 70's, The Incredible Hulk:

Honestly, Peter has never looked more appropriate in a parody skit.

Rating: A.

I could imagine Family Guy parodying Beast Wars,

Somehow, I'm not feeling them doing any Transformers parodies.

Yeah, Seth MacFarlane grew up in the 80's, so that's generally the scope of his pop-culture spoofs, similar to "Robot Chicken". You might get a passing reference to Optimus Prime, Jazz, Bumblebee, Megatron, Strascream and the other G1 characters, but I wouldn't expect FG covering any incarnations beyond that.

Aside from the movie series, I'd agree.

hobbyfan, How did you know Beast Wars was a Transformers series?

Because I actually watched it when it came out several years back. Aired on Fox.

You mean Fox Kids?

Yep. Late 90's, aired on weekdays for some reason.

Did you see Beast Machines?

Barely. Eventually, I will do that and Beast Wars.
