Looney TV: Pullet Surprise (1997)

 Here's one that may not have aired on Chumptoon Network, Boomerang, or even on Max.

Foghorn Leghorn and Pete Puma star in "Pullet Surprise". Stan Freberg reprises as Pete, with Emmy winner Frank Gorshin as Foghorn.

Pete, you'll recall, got his 15 minutes of fame dueling with Bugs Bunny, but I get the idea of Chuck Jones trying something different, and matching Pete with Foghorn.

Rating: B.

Mel Blanc had of course already passed away by this time. I will say that Frank Gorshin did a better job voicing Foghorn Leghorn than he did for Yosemite Sam.

Frank had also done a Daffy Duck short a year earlier, Superior Duck. I'd imagine he had most of Mel's Looney Tunes voices down.

This is one of my personal favorite post-1980s Looney Tunes shorts. Pairing Foghorn Leghorn up with Pete Puma was a fun out of the box idea.

I remember seeing this played in front of Cats Don’t Dance.

@MisterSig: Thank you.

@MichaelSar12: I'd say that this was a stroke of genius.
