You know you're in trouble when you have two people telling you to fix your muffler (1972)

This is one of the most famous Midas ads of the 70's, and likely aired during sports programming back in the day.

Anyway, a motorist driving with a tired muffler in need of repair is being berated by a motorcylist, and another driver (a pre-Secrets of Isis Joanna Cameron, using what sounds like a NY or Boston accent). Jack Somack, a frequent guest on Barney Miller (1975-82), is the belittled driver.

Midas Mufflers did several spots like this in the early '70s; you can find a few of them at YouTube.
In one of them, you can see Mantan Moreland doing his "indefinite talk" routine with the hapless driver, played here by Joe Perry, a popular "Oh, Him!" actor of the time.

I've seen that one. There was a series with Lee Horsley while he was also doing "Matt Houston" in the 80's, and after that Robert Tessier. Midas attracted a good number of celebrities, including Lee Van Cleef, Art Metrano, Rick Hurst, John Hoyt, and others.
