Looney TV: Bugs Bunny shills for Weetabix (1992)

Here's a little something from across the pond. You know, from England.

The folks behind Weetabix cereal worked out a deal with WB to use Bugs Bunny & Elmer Fudd in this spot. Seems to the British, Weetabix was the equivalent to Popeye's spinach.....

Not entirely certain on the voices here. It's either Jeff Bergman or Greg Burson as Bugs. Not sure about Elmer.

I wouldn't necessary say Spinach, though perhaps a closer equivalent might be Cheerios over here with the whole energy bit.

They do sell Weetabix in some US supermarkets like Kroger, tends to be rather pricey to get.

Here's a slew of animated Weetabix ads of the 80's!

There's a whole mess of 'em on YouTube, so we'll probably have them up down the road. Didn't think of the Cheerios connection, but should've, since it was cereal after all.

Weetabix is basically similar to Nabsico's Shredded Wheat, as they're those large wheat patties you stick in your bowl (not spoon-size), just pour milk and break it down if you want.

Just Nabisco's, or maybe even Kellogg's Frosted Mini-Wheats, too?
