A complete episode of The Magic Garden (1972-9)

As the closing theme implies, WPIX's Magic Garden originally aired in the morning when it first bowed in 1972. Subsequently, the reruns began airing in the afternoon, usually around 2 pm (ET), Monday-Thursday, replaced by Joya's Fun School on Fridays, only because only 40 episodes were produced.

This video comes from a 1979 rebroadcast, and, yes, it aired in the afternoon. Commercials include a mail-in ad for Disney books from Grolier (the parent company of the World Book Encyclopedia), Marzon, a plastic robot, General Mills' Monster cereals, and a house ad, narrated by Ralph Lowenstein, for Tom & Jerry, which, by 1979, was airing for a full hour at 4 pm.

Sherlock (Cary Antebi) is creating toy banks, which piques the interest of Paula & Carole.......

Rating: A.
