Saturday Morning's Forgotten Heroes: Arabian Knights in The Prisoner (1968)

The Arabian Knights turn 50 this year. Unfortunately, with the political climate being what it is, there are no chances of a reboot today. Meh, it can be done, but under the right circumstances.

Anyway, in "The Prisoner", Nida (Shari Lewis) poses as another princess to foil Bakaar's latest plot.

Not sure if it's either Ginny Tyler or Janet Waldo as Tasmine.

Rating: A-.

Pretty sure that's Janet Waldo as the Princess.

I give the animator's credit for portraying Bez as an Afghan Hound (as that would have been one of the breeds common in the region at that time) when he chose to be a hound, although Afghans are sight hounds, not scent hounds.

It's sad but true that we could never get a revival of this show without a LOT of PC tinkering, but I wrote an episode in my Impossibles reboot bringing the group into modern times, with Turhan as a latter day Arabian prince, his cousin Naida, a princess, Bez as a royal zookeeper, Farik as a court magician/entertainer (non magical) and Raseem would be Turhan's bodyguard.

Notice how Nida & Turhan are posed together on the title card. Kissing cousins, maybe (though I doubt it)?
