Daytime Heroes: Bozo the Clown in A Glutten For Mutten (1962)

Time for another Bozo The Clown cartoon. Here, Bozo (Larry Harmon) outwits a sly fox (Paul Frees) trying to pass himself off as a sheepdog in "A Glutten For Mutten". Ignore the year listed on the video. This was actually released in 1962.

The trope of a wolf trying to steal sheep had been done better by Tex Avery with Droopy by a country mile.

Rating: B.

Incidentally, that wolf's name is Wacko. Ironically he looks nearly similar to Hanna-Barbea's Hokey Wolf.

Similar, but not a duplicate. Not quite as charming, either.

True. Yet the cartoon image of Bozo lasted quite a long time via merchandising (and/or later exposure on TV). I actually have a limited edition cel of Bozo I picked up on eBay some years back. Not terribly interesting scene, Bozo is shown with a clothespin over his nose as he's playing a doctor doing a check-up on a skunk!

I'd seen a book & record of Bozo when I was in school back in the day. Too bad I didn't get to keep it.

I knew an arcade that had the Grand Prize Game machine!

They put out an updated version of this that sounds like they got Larry Harmon to do Bozo's voice as well!
